Garlic
It's a good idea to eat garlic, especially if you are in a foreign country. There may be bacteria in the food or water that is unfamiliar to your digestive system. Garlic is anti-bacterial and may help to regulate the bacteria in the gut.
Fortunately it is incredibly cheap here. For under a dollar you can buy a bag of garlic at Emart, the local grocery store. Not all food is cheap though. Before I arrived in Yeosu I read that food was cheap in Korea from a variety of websites.
Fruit and dairy are both expensive. The quality of the cheese here is abominable though expensive.
Garlic is great off the grill. Also, I recently purchased lentils on Korea's ebay-like site and made a soup of them with carrots, onions, chickpeas, and seven cloves of garlic.
