Local Motors?

It's not the future, it's not the dream of the environmentalists, and yet it really puts forth some important questions.  Local Cars is a startup that creates custom  rally cars with futuristic designs.  At their "microfactory" they manufacture a car in about two weeks.

If the auto industry was broken up into something smaller perhaps we would see more innovation.  A smaller operation means a car that is built by hand and taxes from revenues that go directly into the communities around the states.
